Workflow presents "Slipped out of the Sun’s Sphere of Influence," a solo exhibition by Danielle Vincent. The show is a one night only event from 7pm to 10pm on May 22nd, 2024, at The Drake Hotel in the Modern Wing Lobby, 1150 Queen St West, Toronto.
This event is organized by The Drake Hotel Cultural Programmer and artist, Kris Lodu.
Danielle Vincent awarded First Grant from Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation
Danielle Vincent was awarded the First Grant in the amount of $17000 from the Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation. She is one of four Canadians awarded a Greenshields grant in the first half of 2024.
The Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation grant is one of the most prestigious grants available to emerging representational artists, as well as one of the most substantial. It is available to students and artists around the world. This foundation provides financial assistance to young artists pursuing studies or are in the early stage of their career, working in a representational style of painting, drawing, sculpture or printmaking.
Thames Art Gallery Ontario Biennial Juried Exhibition
Danielle Vincent was awarded Juror's Choice for her painting "Opia" at the Thames Art Gallery Ontario Biennial Juried Exhibition in Chatham-Kent, Ontario. Juror Carla Garnet states that "the artists featured in this exhibition not only explore the concept of inhabiting our fleeting utopian present, they caution us against entering an increasingly dystopian future."
The exhibition is open at the Thames Art Gallery from August 25 to October 22, 2023.
OSA 2023 Emerging Artist Juried Exhibition
Danielle Vincent was awarded Best in Show for her artwork "Home" at the Ontario Society of Artists 2023 Emerging Artist Juried Exhibition.
In the juror's remarks, Mark Gleberzon shares: "the soft, stain-painted application of pigments and the revealed wood grain immediately stopped me in my tracks...there's also a timelessness to this work." Juror Jodi Wheeler says "I felt that the artist accomplished their goals for telling their story very well...I felt that the piece was wonderful."
The exhibition is open at the John B. Aird Gallery from March 9th to March 24th, 2023
